Genreal Research Interest:

My general interests are in the area of aquatic chemistry of both freshwater and marine systems. Specific interests include; the thermodynamics of the interactions of trace metals with both organic and inorganic constituents; and the catalytic effect of trace metals on both anthropogenic and natural phenolic compounds in the environment; and the transformation and removal of pollutants by river wetlands.

Professional Interests:

I am active in the Kalamazoo Section of the American Chemical Society(KACS). I am past chair, coordinator of the KACS Project SEED Program, and a member of the Education Committee. In addition to my service to the ACS I am also a trustee of the Kalamazoo Science Foundation and a member of the Board of Oceans and Atmosphere of National Association of Land Grant Colleges and State Universities.
