TEXT : Advanced Engineering Mathematics
(9th edition) by Kreyszig, Wiley.

This text is a good resource for users of mathematics in physics and
engineering. You
should already be familiar with most of the content of chapters 1 -
8. We will cover
chapters 9 - 10, 13 - 18, The remaining chapters are covered in
various other courses
in our department.
SYLLABUS:
Vector Calculus (chapters 9
- 10): curves and surfaces,
gradient, divergence, curl,
line integrals, Jacobians, Green’s
theorem,
surface integrals, Divergence theorem,
Laplace’s equation, Stokes’s theorem.
Complex Variables (chapters 13
- 18): complex numbers and functions,
complex
integration, Cauchy’s theorem and formula, power series, Taylor series,
Laurent
series, residue integration, harmonic functions and potential theory,
conformal
mapping, heat conduction, fluid flow.
