My research interests are located at the intersection of REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT, particularly in Middle America, and ECONOMIC GEOGRAPHY. Although I generally employ quantitative methods (inter-regional input-output analysis, spatial econometrics, applied general equilibrium models, and systems analysis), my recent research is much more eclectic. My primary interest is applied research that addresses real-world issues. To date, most of my substantive work has focused on economic development and policy analysis at regional and local scales in MEXICO and LATIN AMERICA.
