A list of topics is available.

There is a fee for this class. "The fee assessed on this class is to defray the costs of providing class materials, including class notes, handouts, or other duplicated materials. Some classes have an additional fee to supply specialized computer software and/or classroom sets of teaching aids and supplies."

It is expected that you will spend at least 2 to 3 hours outside class for every hour in class. Even though roll will not be taken, you are expected to attend all classes. A list of expectations will be available. You should know the expectations for this class.

The last day to drop is May 31, 2005.

Computer Work: Some of the class periods will be spent in the computer lab. The lab schedule will be announced later. You may use your preferred high level computer language, I prefer Maple. However, you must make your code accessible to someone who does not know the language you are using.
Homework: A list of problems to work will be on this web site. Although not all of the homework will be graded, you are responsible for all of the problems. If you have any questions about problems, please ask them in class or in office hours. An approximate schedule will be available.
Exams:

There will be one test. The date will be June 1, 2007.

Final: The final exam will be in the regular classroom on the last day of class, June 27, 2007. It will be comprehensive.
Grading Policy:

Points will be distributed as follows: Exam 20%, Final 30%, Homework 30%, and Computer Assignments 20%.

An approximate (really a guess) scale is 50% C, 65% B, 85% A. This will probably change depending on actual homework and test scores.
