| General: |
The prerequisite for this class is Math 374,
Differential Equations, and an advanced ccomputer programming
language.. You are responsible for all material in the text and all
material presented in class. This includes any material not in the text
and all material in the text that is not presented in class. A list of topics is
available.
There is a fee for this class. "The fee assessed
on this class is to defray the costs of providing class materials,
including class notes, handouts, or other duplicated materials. Some
classes have an additional fee to supply specialized computer software
and/or classroom sets of teaching aids and supplies."
It is expected that you will spend at least 2 to 3
hours outside class for every hour in class. Even though roll will not
be taken, you are expected to attend all classes. A list of expectations will be
available. You should know the expectations for this class.
You are expected to follow the
policy on Academic Integrity in the catalog. Any violations
will be forwarded to Student Judicial Affairs.
The last day to drop is May 31, 2005.

| Computer Work: |
Some of the class periods will be spent in the
computer lab. The lab schedule will be announced later. You may use
your preferred high level computer language, I prefer Maple. However, you must make
your code accessible to someone who does not know the language you are
using. |
| Homework: |
A list
of problems to work will be on this web site. Although not
all of the homework will be graded, you are responsible for all of the
problems. If you have any questions about problems, please ask them in
class or in office hours. An approximate schedule will be available. |
| Exams:
|
There will be one test. The date will be June 1,
2007.
|
| Final: |
The final exam will be in the regular classroom
on the last day of class, June 27, 2007. It will be comprehensive. |
| Grading Policy: |
Points will be distributed as follows: Exam 20%,
Final 30%, Homework 30%, and Computer Assignments 20%.
An approximate (really a guess) scale is 50% C,
65% B, 85% A. This will probably change depending on actual homework
and test scores.
