Description

A WMU supplied template and Notepad and Dreamweaver will be used to edit the homepage. Below you will find the location on where to get the WMU templates Dreamweaver, Microsoft Notepad, or any basic text editor can be used.

There is also a free alternative to Dreamweaver, NVU (n-view), which may be downloaded and used for free. Although you may be able to obtain assistance with its use, it is considered non-supported and use at your own risk. See the NVU How To.

Using a WMU Template

WMU templates are supplied for faculty and staff to assist in getting a homepage up and running quickly an easly. The templates are located at the following link:

To download the template click on the "template03.zip" link located on the page.








Save the zip file to the area where you'll develop your Web site. If you'd like, create a "website" folder in your "my documents" folder.













After saving the zip file, extract it in the same folder.


Editing a Homepage in Notepad or Dreamweaver

Open the folder where you saved and extracted the template zip file (as noted above). In the video examples we will look at editing the homepage using Microsoft Notepad and Dreamweaver.
