  This page is a helpful guide on how to setup your WMU Web space, edit and create a homepage, and FTP your files to your Web server space.

Step 3 - FTP your Homepage to the Web Server

What you'll find in Step 3:
Description - moving your homepage.
Your Web Site Info - the name of your site and FTP info.
Using FTP- video and software download supplied.

Description

Now that the homepage has been updated in step 2, we will now put the homepage up on your Web space. To do this you will need your Bronco NetID and password. Once your homepage is up ir can be seen using the Web address assigned to your account (discussed below).


Your Web Site Info

Your Bronco NetID and password is required to create your FTP connection to your Web space. In-addition, have your assigned Web address ready which should look similar to the example below:

http://homepages.wmich.edu/~bbronco

Using the address above, replace the "bbronco" with your Bronco NetID the "~" (tilda) symbol is required before your Bronco NetID.

Using FTP

FTP (File Transfer Protocol) is how we move items like Web pages, images, documents, and videos to our website. A free FTP client may be downloaded from here. The video below will discuss how to set up and use a FTP tool.

At this point you should have your homepage on your personal WMU website. To see your website, use the address below, and replace the "bbronco" with your Bronco NetID, the "~" (tilda) symbol is required before your Bronco NetID.
