Disposition

There are many reasons that I want to become a teacher. I enjoy watching students develop and learn. I am very comfortable around children and have many experiences with them. I love being creative and finding ways to give my students as many opportunities as possible to learn. Being in the classroom is natural to me. Both of my parents have teaching degrees, and I have had many teachers that gave me positive learning experiences. I want to do the same for my future students. I have always wanted to be a teacher, and to be able to help my students succeed!

Over the years I have thought about my philosophy of teaching. I believe that the classroom is a place where students can develop and learn. It should be comfortable, safe, and hold the resources that are necessary. Learning occurs in many different ways, and it is important to be encouraging to each style. Students need to be allowed to explore as well as have structure to their day. Students should be encouraged to be creative and expressive. They should be allowed to be themselves and be honored for who they are. It is my role as a teacher to help students develop and grow!
