CLINICAL INTERNSHIP

Clinical internships vary depending on your long term goals. Most of our students interested in the clinical setting perform their internship in cardiac rehabilitation. Some students, if certain of career goals, can be approved to intern in a physical therapy setting, an occupational therapy setting, or a chiropractic care setting, etc. The role of the intern, therefore will be dependant of that selection. As a cardiac rehabilitation intern, you can expect to do some of the following tasks; monitor electrocardiograms, heart rates, blood pressures, oxygen saturation levels, exercise workload, prescribe exercise, develop and prescribe home programs, medical charting, data collection, perform various graded exercise testing, pharmacological testing, and clinical observations.
