My Future as a Teacher!

I want to teach! That is my goal in life at this point. I have been working in different classrooms for the past three years. I started working at head start when my daughter attended pre-school there. I also worked in a charter school in northern Michigan, in a small town called Mancelona, where my children attended kindergarten and first grade. When I moved back home to the South Haven area I went to work as a Pre-school teacher at KIDZONE child care and preschool center on the Lake Michigan Collage campus. I still volunteer in my children’ s school in Bloomingdale MI. They are now in second and third grade. I am now attending my first pre-intern practicum at Northeastern Elementary in Kalamazoo working in the special education resource room with Mrs. Bildner. Every experience that I have ever had with children strengthens my belief that teaching is what I want to do! I believe that teaching changes life, for real! Making a difference happens everyday in the classroom, and I want to make a difference!

*My Philosophy*

I believe that teaching is not a job but a calling, anyone who teaches well does it not for the pay check but for the bigger pay off, the changes they see in the students that they affect. I believe to teach is to live life to it’s fullest potential, to make a difference that lasts a life time, to change the future of our country and our world. For we teach tomorrow’s citizens and leaders. Teachers shape those that they teach in many ways, it is a gift that has been given to us! We as teachers should use this gift to do as much good as possible to help as many children as we can, to help all children understand their potential is as far as they want it to be!

They can do what they set their minds to!
