Parents
Let's all be on the same note this school year!
Welcome Parents. Congratulations, by look at this page, you have made the first step towards being involved in your child’s academic career! Please use this webpage often so that you can stay up to date on what we are doing in the classroom, assignments that I have your children doing, and projects that the students may be doing this year. I look forward to staying in close contact with you by meetings, email, or telephone. You can contact me by email and phone (which are at the bottom of the page). Also, it is essential to your child’s learning that they do not stop learning after they leave the classroom. With that stated, there are websites that are linked to this page that you can use as tools in helping your children with their school work. Enjoy!
Background on my experience with children:
When I was a senior in high school I had my first opportunity to work with and teach children. I worked in a co-op program that allowed me to be a teacher’s aid in a 5th grade special education class. From that time on, I decided that I wanted to work with children. After high school I got a job working in a daycare which allowed me to learn more about children and how they operate. The time that I spent in the daycare was very valuable to my education about children. When I got to Western Michigan University, I volunteered as a mentor which allowed me to help students with work that they had fallen behind on in class. This put me into a one on one “teacher/student” situation which further helped me realize that I wanted to become a teacher.
