Through teaching, I want to reach all of my students on an intellectual level. I do not want to simply cover material, however I want to engage in material and teach children how to think critically. Learning is the main goal of a student, not doing enough work to get a good grade. Throughout my educational career, I will strive to teach for conceptual understanding. By doing this, I feel students will develop thinking skills that will be essential to their academic and professional careers.

 

Career and Job Goals

I want to pursue a career that will allow me to connect with individuals on an intellectual level. I want the opportunity to nurture the growth of students and help them develop the skills necessary to compete in life. Given the opportunity, I will emphasize the need to use reason and logic to conceptually understand the material being taught.

Unique Skills and Talents

I have been a musician for 7 years as a guitarist. Throughout my educational career, I have always tried to incorporate the arts into the classroom. I have always found it to be a meaningful learning experience for the students.
