Life Experiences With Children
I have always worked with children, of many ages. I always was very active with other students, and extremely willing to help a peer. I grew up attending an overnight camp, which I became a counselor at. I knew it was my dream to work with children and there was never a question about that.
For the past year, I have worked for Girl Scouts of Glowing Embers in Kalamazoo, Michigan. I spend my days with girls in the surrounding areas during their lunch time and recess. I do arts and crafts, games, and whatever the girls feel like doing. I have really met a lot of amazing girls and it has allowed me to work with many different ages and types of children.
In the past, I have spent other summers teaching theraputic riding lessons to children with special needs. I work with children from the ages of six, all the way to their late sixties. I truly enjoyed this part of my life. I learned all about patience, diveristy and how to adapt to each person's learning style. I am very lucky to have had this experience in my life.

This site is really great! It is from the television channel PBS. It provides information and acitivites to you and your children regarding all kinds of development, school subjects, raising and speaking with children, and fun games as well. Check it out!
This site shows you the expectations for Michigan students, grades K-12. It also has many informational links you may want to use as well.
Having troubles having a child with special needs? This site is terrific. It helps you find ways to deal with your childs special needs in all aspects of life. From you and your student, to your teacher and school. There are also many resources that this page offers that you can go to for even more information.
Here you can find information about your own community schools! They provide great parent links, along with information of all the schools and employees that complete your childs education. Information regarding rules, laws, and even more are accessible from this site.
