Collegiate Objective |
Personally, one of the reasons I started college in order to set an example for those who were younger then me in my family. I am a first generation college student and it was not easy for me to be able to go to college. In my mind there was no other option for me other then to go off to college, but for those before me it was not quite the same story. I have a younger sister who was not viewing college the same way I did when I was in high school, so I believed that I needed to go to set an example for her. Another personal reason I chose to enter college was to make something of myself. I did not want to be working a 9-5 job that I hated getting up to go to everyday and college was my way away from that. I am able to choose a major I truly enjoy and know that ultimately it will lead me to a career that I really will enjoy. On a professional level, I simply wanted to be able to pursue my dreams of being a lawyer. Without college I would not be able to follow through with this career so it was imperative for me to go to college. Also, being in school, I knew, would help me network with those who were also interested in many of the same subjects as myself. I am able to join organizations, participate in internships, and have employment in positions that help further my goals. With hard work and my determination I know that I will be able to go far with my college degree on both a professional and personal level.
