I became qualified as a US Army
Healthcare Specialist and passed the NREMT administered examination for Emergency
Medical Technician – Basic. Included in my combat medic training were hemorrhage control,
airway management, treatment of a variety of different types of penetrating
trauma, IV hypotensive fluid resuscitation, CBRNE
principles, triage and evacuation (both air and ground), vaccinations,
sterilization techniques, and medical records management.
2008 – Michigan Concealed
Pistol License
I received hours of classroom instruction on the legal and ethical considerations
of involved with carrying a concealed pistol and was required
to complete the National Rifle Association’s Basic Personal Protection Course.
This license was issued after a thorough marksmanship examination and a rigorous
screening of my criminal background.
2004 – US Army School of Infantry (Ft Benning, GA)
A thorough and
intense 15-week course teaching leadership and physical fitness techniques, orienteering,
weapons systems familiarization and other basic combat infantryman skills.
