Feb 2007 - Present – US Army Health Care Specialist / Unit Public Affairs Liaison

Michigan Army National Guard (Ypsilanti, MI)

As a Combat Medic I am responsible for maintaining medical records, administering vaccinations and fluids, preparing patients for surgery, and acting as a first responder on the battle field.  As a Team Leader I am responsible for and supervise a five person team, conducting their training and taking care of administrative issues.  I also serve as the Public Affairs Liaison for our unit; monitoring interviews, writing press releases, and coordinating events with our headquarters in Lansing, MI.

         March 2007 – September 2007 – Baker / Customer Service Representative

Great Harvest Bread Co. (Portage, MI)

As a baker I was responsible for the daily production of our product.  I was required to arrive promptly at 3am, and at times operate the store myself for hours at a time.  Our production had very specific instructions and required a great attention to detail.  I was also cross trained in customer service, able to work in whatever capacity was needed.

Mar 2006 - Feb 2007 - First Presidential Firing Party

Honor Guard, United States Army (Ft. Myer, Virginia)

I was in charge of the day to day operations and maintenance for an 11-man squad of infantry soldiers, and accountable for over $60,000 worth of equipment. During this time, the squad was involved both with Secretary Rumsfeld's retirement ceremony and the firing party for President Ford's funeral.

Jan 2005 - Mar 2006 - Guard, Tomb of the Unknown Soldier

United States Army (Arlington National Cemetery, Virginia)

While guarding the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, I was solely responsible for protecting both the monument itself and the atmosphere of respect in its vicinity. I also managed the day to day training and scheduling of nine other individuals and the control and maintenance of roughly $75,000 worth of equipment.

         Feb 2004 - Jan 2005 - Commander-In-Chief's Guard

United States Army (Ft. McNair, District of Columbia)

I was part of a small team that conducted ceremonies and other special events for the President of the United States in the Washington, D.C. area. We worked closely with the Secret Service regarding security issues and chemical weapons defense during both President Reagan's funeral and President Bush's second inauguration.
