Underground Railroad

Starting point page

---

This time in history was an exciting turning point for both the African American people as well as the nation. This was a great example of how people recognized a social injustice, and organized in order to correct the injustice. Instead of the normal state of inaction, this mixed group of white citizens, freed slaves, black citizens, and runaway slaves organized a complex set of checkpoints to transport slaves into northern cities and then eventually to Canada.
