Teaching Resources

For every book you read in literature circles, prepare a "Teaching Resources Page." These pages will be published on the web as a permanent resource for teachers--so be sure to do careful, high-quality work.

Your page should include:

  1. An introduction to the literary work and a statement about the most appropriate grade levels for teaching the work.
  2. Eight or more study or discussion questions that would be helpful to students and teachers reading the work.
  3. Ideas for teaching the work, including ideas for activities, assignments, essays, additional reading. books to pair it with, etc.
  4. A list of websites that might be helpful for teachers or students studying the work. (Each web address should have a one-sentence description of what the site is and why it is useful.)

These assignments should be sent by email to Dr. Webb, allen.webb@wmich.edu.

For a "C" one novel-length work and one Teaching Resources Page
For a "B" two novel-length works and two Teaching Resources Pages
For an "A" three novel-length works and three Teaching Resources Pages
