Here are a couple life lessons for ya:

I've learned that trumpet players talk about their lip but play on their morale.

I've learned that the use of a pencil to mark in fingerings or other signs to help my performance is not cheating, but using my brain.

I've learned that no matter how much I think about it, it doesn't get better it I don't practice and no matter how much I practice it doesn't get better if I don't think about it.

I've learned that sand is not the trumpet player's friend.
