| Ask the main question first. | How difficult would it be to install your 12 GB Flash Drive in a Meistro 220 computer? I saw your ad on p. 54 of the 12 October issue of PCWeek. | |
|   | ||
| Explain your situation as best you can, and then explain each question as much as necessary for the reader to answer it. | The 2 GB drive that came with the machine is beginning to cause me trouble, and I'd like to replace it before it fails. I am familiar
with the process of adding, and formatting external drives, but I have no experience installing an internal drive. I am interested in the Flash because of its combination of large capacity and high speed.
Will I need special tools or equipment to install the drive correctly? I have been told that static electricity is a common problem when installing drives and cards in computers and that a static charge can destroy the drive, the computer, or both. I was told that I would need a grounded workbench and special grounding equipment to install the drive myself. Is that correct? |

| Also, I would like to transfer the programs and data files on my current drive to the Flash. Will I be able to chain the drives together for that purpose, or will I need to find some other way to do that? I do have a tape drive I use for back-up purposes. Would I be better off backing up to tape from the old drive and then restoring to the Flash? What would be the fastest and safest way to move approximately 1.4 GB of data from the old drive to the new? | ||

| Finally, I would like to know more about your warranty. I have never purchased computer equipment by mail order before, and I am concerned about whether I would be able to have the Flash serviced locally should that prove necessary and the procedures I would need to follow to replace the drive if it should fail within the warranty period. | ||
|   |   |   |
| When you cannot justify an end date, encourage a prompt response. | Because my current drive is increasingly noisy, I would appreciate your answers to these questions as soon as possible. | |
| Complimentary close | Sincerely, | |
