PROGRAM GOALS:
1. To help students understand that dress is a form of communication
2. To facilitate the student’s ability to analyze dress as a communication system
3. To help students develop a framework for interpreting the meaning and use of dress
4. To introduce students to dress-related research in a variety of disciplines
5. To introduce students to the concept of dress as an approach to the understanding of human development and behavior
6. To facilitate the student’s development of oral and written skills
7. To develop the student’s skills in reviewing literature and writing literature-review papers
8. To give students experience with the research process, including research design, data collection, and interpretation.
