Home Neighbors:
This professionally constructed stone-block house shares the same
courtyard with the "modest home" of the previous photo. This
family had to do some enormous saving to have it built, or were perhaps
lucky enough to have more than one wage earner in the home. They were
very proud of the home and asked me to photograph them. The windows have
a metal frame, typical of homes of this design. Houses like this are often
constructed with handtools by laborers hired directly by the homeowners,
who also supervise the work themselves. |
