Bus Station at Night:  I took this from the second floor restaurant that had a wonderful view of this bus station. All of these vehicles, including the vans, are providing public transportation. Although it is difficult to see here, many buses are painted in vibrant colors with clever logos. Some of the vans and stationwagons--called matatus--also have logos even if they are otherwise painted simply. Matatus especially are known for overloading their vehicles even on long trips, forcing people to stand or squeeze in uncomfortably. New legislation calls for a seatbelt for every passenger--a very foreign concept in Kenya. It is too early to tell what impact the legislation will have.
