There's a very good view of the family's calabashes and other possessions
in this clip. You may have already noticed how lean both my friend's mother
and father are, especially his father. It is typical in this area for
people to be undernourished, particularly at drier times of the year.
As we handed out gifts before leaving, we gave my friend's father the
best present of all--a lot of food. As I left the house, my friend's mother
and owner of the home decided she was no longer needed and followed me
out to check on one of the children taking care of goat kids. Then you
get to see him with the goats. |
