Young Women With Donkeys:
The rains had been good, and the purple flowers were blooming beautifully.
These women were escorting us back to our LandRover, which was about a
three hour walk away. The donkeys are carrying our things, and the women
are carrying plastic jugs because one of them was going to fetch water.
Women usually make a major trip for water every couple of days, using
donkeys to carry the containers. In between, they will make "quick"
trips (a 30 to 60 minute walk away) with just one or two containers. |
