SAMBURU : MATERIAL CULTURE
|
This
is just a small sample of Samburu material culture. The house fire is
made with three large stones, as with many societies globally. Livestock
are milked into calabashes, several kinds of which you see here. Each
member of the family has her or his own calabash--these are very special
possessions. Other important items are plastic jugs for holding water,
arrows for ceremonial and practical use, blankets, animal hides, various
weapons, games, and so on.
