Why Do I Want to Teach?

I chose to become a teacher because I love watching children learn and grow. It is an amazing site when you watch them understand a new concept for the first time. This is why I have chosen to specialize in teaching younger children. I may be the first teacher that many of these children will ever have,and I hope that I can make a positive impact on the lives of some of these children, just like some of my first teachers did for me. I chose my minors to have a well rounded teaching degree. My minors, are english, math and science. I feel that with the knowledge I will have in these subjects, I will be able to intergrate these subjects together when doing activities.

I thought that I had always wanted to teach children, until I came to college. When I started college, I had chose an interior design major. It wasn't unitl the summer after my freshman year that I decided I wanted to switch my major to teaching early elementary children. My job experience at Appletree Christian Learning Center, opened up my eyes to teaching again, and I knew that I was meant to be a teacher. Taking that job was the best decision that I could have ever made. I now know that I was meant to be a teacher.
