White Water Rafting

Home White Water Rafting My English Bulldog World Traveler

On June 21, 2008 a group of friends and I were able to take a trip of a lifetime. We organized a trip to Denver, Colorado to go white water rafting. Other than a couple of us, this was our first time rafting. We went rafting on the most commercialized river in the world, the Arkansas River in Buena Vista, Colorado through River Runners. We all decided to wear wet suits because the water must have been around 40 degrees, cold enough to make you choke on first impact (TRUST ME!).Once we finally started down the river it was an experience like none other. We feared for our lives from our first paddle to then end. We started out rookies and came out like veterans. The total trip was 26 miles, 13 in the morning and 13 in the afternoon. I have never been so sore on one side of my body in my life. If you ever get the chance to go on the Arkansas River I highly recommend it!

That is me celebrating the fact that we are almost done! Notice everyone else in the raft is attempting to paddle while I fore go my responsibilities in the front the raft and take a break (I do not recommend do this because I almost fell out of the raft)!
