Self Evaluation

Project #1

This was a relatively easy project to finish as a group. We simply divided the project into different tasks and assigned them to each person in the group. This allowed each of us to concentrate the most on our specific task at hand. I was responsible for writing the review on the Article dealing with Extranets. I have a job in IT right now and I wasn’t completely familiar with the term Extranet. I previously new the technology behind an extranet, but I didn’t know there was a specific term for it. Before this project I would just refer to it as the intranet. I would say this was a good project and it allowed me to increase my vocabulary as an IT professional.

The Class as a whole

The first few chapters in the class were a review for me. I knew quite a bit about Information Technology in corporations coming into this class from the previous jobs I’ve had. As we made it farther into the book, we started to learn about e-business systems and applications such as SAP. As I learned about them, I realized how powerful these applications are and the value they have to corporations. The web page project was very helpful for me in learning how to use Microsoft Word to create simple web pages. I would say this course was a great good course to introduce information technology to students aspiring in any kind of business related degree.
