Collegiate Objective

Professionally, a college education will help me succeed in ways that my parents never dreamed of. Sometime during college I’d like to intern for a large accounting firm for either a summer or a semester in preparation for a career in that company upon graduation. I want to work as an accountant or an auditor in the private sector of a large company. I’d like to work in a large city like Chicago or New York, but I wouldn’t pass up the opportunity to work in a Spanish-speaking country for a US based firm.  In order to do this I need a college degree. At the very least I’ll get my Bachelors in Accountancy. I hope to get my Masters in Accountancy as well.

Personally, I want better than my parents had when they were growing up in Mexico. I don’t want to have to struggle with money. I don’t want to live in poverty. I don’t want to have to struggle to send my future children to college. I want to be able to take care of my parents in their old age as they have cared for me when I was younger. I want to be in a good financial position to ensure prosperity for my parents in addition to my children. College will help me achieve this in that I will be in a better position to take a high-skilled, well paying job in a lucrative career.
