Section 1: Bio about Me

Zak and Lucky  Me,Adam, and Big Kitty

I'm Chris and I'm 22years old and currently attend Western Michigan University. I'm majoring in CIS (Computer Information Systems) and I'm a junior. I really enjoy anything to do with computers, on them, putting them together, fixing them etc. I also really enjoy gaming of almost any kind, especially RPGs such as the Final Fantasy series. I have several pets: two dogs; Zak and Boris, three cats; Lucky, Big Kitty, and Miss Meow. I have two brothers as well: Nick, whose 19 and Adam, whose 5.

Section 2: History of Plainwell

Plainwell began as a village in 1869 and eventually became a city in 1934. This small village was centered around the Plainwell Paper Mill which was known as the Michigan Paper Company back in the 1800's. This mill supplied jobs to the majority of Plainwell and changed names several times until eventually becoming the Plainwell Paper Mill. The mill stopped production in November of 2000 and was recently bought out by the city to become a multi-use facility in the near future. Currently Plainwell is home to about 4,500 residents working at various smaller businesses in and around the city.

Section 3: My number 1 hobby

My number one hobby is playing the massive multiplayer online roleplaying game (MMORPG) World of Warcraft. It's a game played online with people from around the world, currently there's around 11million people playing World of Warcraft. It was created and is maintained by Blizzard Entertainment, who also make several other games such as; Warcraft, Diablo, and Starcraft. World of Warcraft has a monthly subscription fee of 15 dollars, the world within the game is currently updated as well as new things such as events or items are being added to the game all the time.

World of Warcraft includes something for almost every type of gamer out there, from people who can only play once or twice a week to those who have time to log in on a daily basis. There's also PvE (Player versus Environment) in which players work together in groups to defeat bosses or groups of creatures  which can range from fairly simple to extremely complex encounters. Then there is also PvP (Player versus Player) in which players can play against other players in specially designed arenas in groups ranging from 2 vs 2 all the way up to 40 vs 40. The two game types: PvP and PvE almost make World of Warcraft like two entirely different games in one, massively expanding the types of players that can find enjoyment within the game.

Section 4: Things I'm proud of

Proud of at home:

At home I'm very proud of my new computer set up that I put together. This set up includes 2 monitors, as well as a hook up to my television so I can use my T.V. as a monitor if I choose to do so. A 5.1 surround sound speaker setup and ofcourse internal computer parts, new Nvidia video card and CPU. I'm also proud of my gaming system set up and entertainment center.

Proud of at school:

I'm very proud of my school and their strides at the quality of classes and teaching. I always come out of classes having picked up something new and useful, without being overly worked and totally stressed out over class. I'm also proud of the efforts Western is putting forth to prevent a large spread of the flu this season and their concerns for student health and well being.

Section 5: Sites I recommend

  1. www.wikipedia.org:

I recommended this website because I use it all the time to look up information about anything I want to know more about. This website is information input by anyone that has information to add to the subject, it's basically an encylopedia about everything from people to objects to places. Almost anything you can think of will have a page about it on this website.

  2. www.mmo-champion.com:

This website has to do with the game World of Warcraft and news pertaining to it. I use this website to check out any new changes or updates to the game. This website tracks forum posts by the developers and such and posts them on their website for easier viewing of them. They also post videos and such created by players doing unique and impressive things within the game.
  3. www.gamefaqs.com:

This website is a giant archive about user created guides to almost any video game made for any gaming system ever. All of the guides are done by players and then sent to the site, so nothings to promise the guides will be 100% accurate, but my uses of these guides has always been positive.
  4. www.pandora.com:

This site is basically a free internet radio station, it allows you to customize the music you listen to by adding bands or songs you prefer and it plays only things that are fairly similar to those that you've listed. It does an extremely good job of playing only music similar to what you chose as well as having any band or song you can think of.
  5. www.wowarmory.com:

This website is basically a database of all of the characters created in World of Warcraft. It allows you to look up any character you wish and see their gear and stats, as well as any of their achievements in game. This allows you to get a sense of someones ability before inviting them to a group or something of that sort.
