My Future Intentions

Over the course of my college experience, I want to be able to communicate my knowledge and wisdom to become a master of the business world.  People skills only go so far in business, as one must know the subject thoroughly to make an impact on the economy.  Communication is actually an extremely complex word because all your senses are taken into account, not just speaking. “Effective communication combines a set of skills including nonverbal communication, attentive listening, the ability to manage stress in the moment, and the capacity to recognize and understand your own emotions and those of the person you're communicating with”(Improving Communication Skills in Business). These skills are highly stressed and monitored at WMU, and it is essential in the business world to own these attributes.  I also want to be able to establish solid, honest relationships with potential clients that are beneficial for both sides.  In the magazine “Plansponsor,” Alison Cooke Mintzer explains, “It might not always be that your job involves working with clients, but, even in jobs where people work independently or remotely, there is usually an employer or supervisor to report to, and the interpersonal relationship can make the job easier or harder” (Mintzer).  I would like to be considered an extremely good businessman that is respected by everyone surrounding me without breaking relationships that could potentially harm my business or my fellow coworkers. All in all, if I can follow the path set out by my professors in college, I will be able to succeed regardless of who I am working with due to my hearty experiences in school.
