Study Guides for the Michigan Test for Teacher Certification

Speech (04)

Dear Communication Education Students,

This website was created to help you study for the Michigan Test for Teacher Certification in Speech (04). On this website, you will find links to the official study guide for the Speech (04) test, and study guides created by students in Communication 5600.

Because of the requirements for the minor, you will cover most of these areas in your course work. We recommend that you use your communication elective on a Mass Communication course. Additionally, we strongly recommend you take THEA 1000 to help you with the Performance Arts portion of the exam.

As part of the COM 5600 experience, students develop "teaching modules" that cover more specific material related to the exam. These modules can help you study for the exam. You may also want to use these modules to get ideas when you are in the actual speech classroom. CLICK HERE to view these teaching modules.

If you have any questions about the exam, the minor, or communication in general, please contact me at chad.edwards@wmich.edu or 387-3109 or stop by my office (221 Sprau Tower).

Best of luck,

Chad Edwards, Ph.D.
