Porewater peepers in tank of

Slits in coverplate at 1-2
cm intervals expose underlying chambers (covered by 0.2 micron membrane)
to DI water in tank. The tank is bubbled under N2 gas to remove
O2 before inserting the peepers into the saltmarsh sediment.
The DI water in the chambers will be allowed to equilibrate with the surrounding
sediment pore waters for approximately 4 weeks.

in portable N2 glovebag to avoid reoxidation of reduced chemical
species in pore waters:
