Professional Experience

Graphic Designer
Girls on the Run
April 2011 - October 2011
Freelance graphic design artist hired to create brochures, flyers and pamphlets targeting elementary and middle school girls to participate in a ten-week running program culminated by a 5K run.  Utilized Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop and InDesign) to create materials to be printed and distributed to homes and schools.

Digital Communications Specialist
Eaton Corporation
March 2010 - July 2011
Hired on to be the primary resource responsible for the merger of truck and automotive division Intranets.  Tasked with building web pages and assessing web metrics to best determine how to implement the new Intranet.  A large part of my job is to train content owners to have a self sustaining site.  The Branding Communications department is also largely responsible for communications and marketing globally.  Eaton and Dana Corporation formed a partnership to market truck parts under the alias Roadranger.  As the digital communications intern I send monthly product & service updates to about 12,000 subscribers.  I regularly make updates to both Roadranger and Eaton.

Work Experience

Cocktail Waitress / Server
Kalamazoo Country Club
May 2008 - July 2008
Spent a summer waitressing and working special events at the Kalamazoo Country Club.  New renovations to the facilities required extra help to assist with functions, charity events, weddings, and overall guest services.  While working at this position I was able to exercise my communication skills while treating members with a high level of respect.  This was a great networking and learning opportunity that helped me develop my interpersonal skills.

Emerald City Designs
Special Events Planner

May 2007 - August 2007
My summer spent at Emerald City Designs allowed me a vast amount of experience in customer service and small business management.  At Emerald City, all employees were given the same amount of responsibility and that really developed my leadership skills.  Attention to detail is a must when it comes to organizing and setting up for that person's "special day".  Our flexibility allowed us to accommodate a small party of 8 and others as large as 500.  These was a great position for me to get involved in all aspects of the business, including invitations, floral arrangements, set up and tear down of events..
