Photography Workshop
The Summer 2007 Art Camp

During Summer 2007 the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts will be offering a special summer art program called "Kalamazoo to Numazu - Connecting Students through Photography." Students will have an opportunity to work with professional photographer Charles Comer who worked on the book "2 Cities, 48 Hours in Benton Harbor St. Joseph", a day-in-the-life project by David Knight. Students will also use technology to communicate with other photography students in our sister city, Numazu, Japan.

Numazu, Japan

Numazu, Japan, population 30,000 is Kalamazoo's sister city. It is located in the center of Japan, one hour south of Tokyo. Mt. Fuji is the backdrop for this picturesque city, with plenty of hiking trails, beaches and hot springs. Numazu is also the home of the first Wal-mart in Japan called Seiyu.
