Required Text: “Aquatic Chemistry” by Stumm and Morgan

Course Prerequisites: Physical Chemistry I (Chem 430) or equivalent

Content: Chapters 1-15

Tests:     Three tests will be given during the course of the semester, each counting 21% of the final grade. The                 tentative schedule of tests is as follows

Wednesday, Oct. 1
Wednesday, Oct. 29
Monday, Nov. 24

Project:     There will be a project assigned during the semester that will account for 15% of your grade.

 

Final:
The final will be on Monday December 8th, 5:00-7:00 PM and will account for 22% of your final grade. It will be a comprehensive exam, including chapters that will be covered after the fourth test.

Policies
Cheating:
You are responsible for making yourself aware of and understanding the policies and procedures in the Undergraduate (pp. 268-270) [Graduate (pp. 24-27)] Catalog that pertain to Academic Integrity. These policies include cheating, fabrication, falsification and forgery, multiple submission, plagiarism, complicity and computer misuse. If there is reason to believe you have been involved in academic dishonesty, you will be referred to the Office of Student Judicial Affairs. You will be given the opportunity to review the charge(s). If you believe you are not responsible, you will have the opportunity for a hearing. You should consult with me if you are uncertain about an issue of academic honesty prior to the submission of an assignment or test.

Absentee:

You are to notify the instructor should as soon as you know you will miss a class. You will be responsible for any material missed. Should you miss an exam you must make it up as soon as you can make it to campus. Valid reasons for missing an exam include sickness (with Dr. note), death or serious illness in the family.
