SYLLABUS :   We will study of basics of differentiation and integration of vector functions (chapters 1 to 7--see assignment list below). Even if you have done some previous work in calculus, it is unlikely that you have seen the vector approach – which should better prepare you for physics and engineering classes.

TECHNOLOGY:    It is assumed that you have a graphing calculator with CAS.  If you don’t already own one, get a TI-89.  I will use the TI-89 for classroom demonstrations.  Professor Pence has prepared useful information on using your TI-89 in this class. Click on  the website...

Please silence phones.

Final Exam:  April 26th Thursday  8:00-10:00
Part 1 (no calculators, no note cards)
Part 2 (calculators and TWO 3x5 cards allowed)
You will receive part 2 when you turn in part 1.

You should sign up for Math 1710 or 1230 (Calculus II) as soon as possible.  When you get your final grade in Math 1700, if it is below a C grade, you will need to take Math 1700 again.  A "C" grade is required for going on to Math 1710.
