My
name is Erinn Bentley, and I am an instructor of English at Western
Michigan
University. I earned a Bachelor's degree in English literature from Hope
College in 1994 and a Master's of Fine Arts in creative writing from
Western
Michigan University in 2006. I currently am a doctoral candidate at WMU
studying English education. For twelve years I have worked as an educator
in a variety of classroom settings,
from
teaching
ESL
in
Japan
for
six
years, to teaching middle school to at-risk students in Kalamazoo, to
teaching composition, ESL and fundamental English courses at WMU and
KVCC.
I am a life-long writer of poetry and creative non-fiction as well as
a full-time caregiver to my two sons. Besides reading and writing
literature,
my passions include traveling, especially to places where I can hike
or ski in the mountains..
