information about the artist
raised in okemos, michigan, i graduated from okemos high school in 2003. the following fall i began my college
education at western michigan university in kalamazoo, michigan. i have taken various studio art classes in the past
years, but after taking my first photography class i realized that is where my passion was. i continued my study of art
in florence, italy in 2006 concentrating on art history and continuing my development in photography. when i returned,
i began to broaden my education by adding my minor in the marketing field; more specifically in advertising and
promotion. in december 2007, i graduated from western michigan university with a bachelor of art in fine arts with a
minor in advertising and promotion.

emotion series
in my self portrait series, i decided to look at emotion and how it plays a part in the roles we lay in our everyday lives.
texture series
using articles of clothing i own, this series loots at who i am based on the aparel i wear everday and how people see me.
who i am series
taking ideas and objects from past projects in my self portrait series, i combined them to create a composite of who i am.
7 deadly sins series
this is my interpretation of the early christian teachings of the 7 deadly sins: wrath, gluttony, sloth, lust, envy, pride,
and greed.
interchangeable series
there is something unspoken between two people who feel like every moment without each other is a waste of time. you
can tell not only by the way they look at one other but also how their bodies and minds react even when they just catch
a glimpse of their voice. everything they do throughout their day is just a countdown until the moment when they can be
so close, that even touching is too far apart. this series shows two people who feel this way and live their days for each
other.
natural/unnatural series
what is beautiful? this day in age it is hard to tell. this series looks at the difference between natural and unnatural to
figure out what beauty means to me.
grandma series
this series is a portrait of my late grandmother. with the photographs taken just a few months before her passing, i was
got images which reflect her personality through objects in her home. being very ill, she did not want to be in any
photographs herself. these are some of her most loved posessions which truley tell you something special about her.
