On a personal level, I want to use college to instill good character and work ethic in myself. I hope to be open to learn about anything that other people have found worthwhile and good in their lives. I want to take seriously my passing interests as well. Recently, when I am curious about a subject or topic I have started to take seriously my attempts to learn about it. If I find that I have trouble understanding it when I first find something written on the topic I will do my best to locate a better, clearer source, so that I don't just drop the interest when I become irritated about its accessibility. I have found this approach to learning to be very good for improving my work speed, character, and overall knowledge. Not giving up on something when it becomes challenging is definitely something that I need to be able to do throughout life and I find that although it takes me a lot of time (which I will begin to feel that I'm wasting) I am learning to work faster and get better at inquiring into things which I am almost all but ignorant about. The knowledge that I gain from this work is certainly the best part. I think that being a well rounded person is one of the most important things in life, not just practically, but for oneself. I am doing my best to become a much more interested and capable person and hopefully college will get me there.

On a professional level, I want to get good work skills and knowledge about the business world that will help me with my career in it. I want to learn about how business works in America as well as the rest of the world, what opportunities there are, and what kinds of jobs are available. I want to do my best to become involved in groups at Western which will help me to understand life in the business world after school. I hope to do well in my classes so that I can have access to good job opportunities and a good future. I want to find people that are involved in business activates so that we can work together, bounce ideas off of one another and help to progress ourselves. I am looking for good opportunities and I want to do the best that I can professionally so that when I find opportunity I am capable of going after it.
