GEOG 5630 Surveying Techniques
Course Description
The theory and application of geographic techniques and instruments of field investigations: collection and analysis of field data, preparation and presentation of materials. The course is based primarily upon field operations. The purpose is to introduce students to the capabilities and limitations of the Global Positioning System (GPS). Students will gain a basic understanding of how satellite-based navigation systems operate and they will put theory into practice through a series of field exercises.
Prerequisites: GEOG 5010 Introduction to GIS recommended
