Frankie Velazquez's COM 3540 Final Exam

Question 8

The two commonly used image formats are GIF and JPEG, and each one has different properties that make the usage of these image formats special. The GIF format makes images smaller in size by not displaying all of the images colors, by doing this though the images tends to look slightly faded. The JPEG format makes images smaller by not displaying each and every pixel properly, rather it bunches colors together to make large solid chunks of color, but it does display all the colors. The uses of these formats are usually for buttons and images on websites. GIF images are usually used for buttons and banners seeing that those are not too colorful so the GIF format doesn't really make a difference. The JPEG format is used for pictures inserted onto a site to maintain the color.
