Meet in 3363 Rood Hall every Tuesday from 4:00-5:15 and in 2211 every Thursday from 9:30 to 10:45.

Introduction to Quantum Mechanics by David J. Griffiths (1995) Prentice Hall.
Maple V Primer (Release 4) by Frank Garvan (1997) CRC Press.
Prerequisites:
PHYS 309 and PHYS 420.
Computer Accounts:
A University Unix account must be obtained.
Homework:
4 Problems will be due every week and a half, beginning on 1/19. Most will be from the text, but there will be an occasional computer assignment. These will count 40% toward final grade.
Exams:
There will be a one-hour exam every third Thursday (1/21, 2/11, 3/11, 4/1), covering about one and a half chapters of the text. These will count 40% toward final grade.
Final Exam:
The comprehensive two-hour final exam will take place on Monday, April 19th, from 10:15 to 12:15, in 2211 Rood Hall, and will count 20% toward final grade.
[First Assignment:] Griffiths, Problems 1.3, 1.6, 1.8, and 1.14, due Tuesday, 1/19.
