Ever since I was a small child I knew that college was in my future. I never even considered that there was an alternative. The only question I had in the beginning was where to attend. Many colleges sparked my interest however with finances in mind, Western Michigan University offered me a scholarship and I accepted.
Although my main objective was to graduate with a degree, I knew that going to college would open many doors and offer many other new opportunities. Coming to a bigger university was very exciting for me because I grew up in a small town and attended a very small school. I loved the idea of meeting people who didn’t know me and seeing different people every day. So far it has been amazing and being involved in such things as Hall Council, National Honor Society (Alpha Lambda Delta), and just being open to new, different people has opened my eyes to new experiences. I have met amazing new people and made some great friends who have made a tremendous impact on my life.
As far as classes go I’m pretty sure I want to pursue a career in advertising/marketing. I am also striving for either a major or a minor in Spanish. I have always wanted to be bilingual and I know it will make me more marketable when applying for a job after college. I hope to be more in the creative side of advertising and/or marketing because I am very personable and am driven by other people.
Thus far college has been an amazing and I can’t believe I’m almost half done already. I’m looking forward to the next few years and graduating with an honorable degree that will get me into a prominent workplace.
