Notre Dame

Notre Dame

Fighting Irish

Before my family and I moved to Michigan we lived in South Bend, Indiana, which would explain why we are such big Notre Dame fans. I always grew up around Irish football and basketball games, seeing as my parents were season ticket holders. I couldn't imagine cheering on any other school. Go Irish!

The Golden Dome might be one of the University of Notre Dames most famous features. It sits on top of the Main Building is covered in 23.9-karat gold leaf. The football helemets that get painted regularly are painted with gold leaf paint as well. Under no circumstance will students walk up the steps of the Main Building. The popular superstition is that you will not graduate if you do so. Therefore, it is a commencement tradition to take a picture on the stairs. Notre Dame is all about tradition.

Two famous movies were filmed at the University of Notre Dame. Knute Rockne, All American and one of my all time favorite movies Rudy. Rudy was always told that he was too small to play college football. But he was determined to overcome the odds and fulfill his dream of playing for Notre Dame. It is a truly inspiring sports film.
