Collegiate Objective
Return to home page

Almost four year after graduating with an associate’s degree in nursing, I have returned to school for many personal reasons.  Even though I have a great career and I am making good money, I do not feel satisfied with my education.  When I was growing up, I always thought that I would get my bachelor’s degree and that is what I had intended to do but life took me in a different direction.  I have returned to college to obtain my bachelor’s degree in nursing.  I feel that having a higher education will help me to grow in my professional life as well as my personal life.
Obtaining my bachelor’s degree at Western Michigan University will increase my opportunities as a registered nurse and allow me to grow professionally. It will open the door to the education, administration, or community health.  If I continue to work as a staff nurse with my bachelor’s degree, I will become a valuable resource to my peers and new graduates. Having more knowledge will make me better at my job- a job in which so many people depend on me.
