Description

Microsoft Research provides many of the brains behind the brawn of the world's leading software provider. The unit employs more than 800 scientists and researchers focused on 55 areas of research ranging from mathematics and computer science to psychology and sociology. Microsoft Research performs both academic and product-focused research in areas such as data management, network security, and hardware development. Headquartered in Redmond, Microsoft Research also operates two labs in California, one in Massachusetts, and international locations in China, India, and the UK. Microsoft founded its research unit in 1991.

Description

Dell wants its name to ring from the desktop to the data center. One of the world's top suppliers of personal computers, the company offers a broad range of technology products for the consumer, education, enterprise, and government sectors. In addition to a full line of desktop and notebook PCs, Dell offers network servers, data storage systems, printers, Ethernet switches, and peripherals such as displays and projectors. It also markets third-party software and hardware. Dell's growing services unit provides infrastructure consulting, systems integration, asset recovery, financing, support, and training.
