About WMU

Founded in 1903, Western Michigan University is Michigan's 4th public university. Currently, there are more than 240 academic programs that are available to students. More than 25,000 students are enrolled and 20% are now into their graduate course work. Western is nationally recognized for its Haworth School of Business and its highly rated engineering school and aviation program. WMU encompasses more than 1,200 acres and holds 143 buildings. Within walking distance to downtown Kalamazoo, students are able to integrate easily into the community and explore the city.
