I love to teach. Any age, any subject. I am most passionate about health and the arts. My goal upon coming to Western was to be a Theatre Education major, but little did I know other things were in store for me. At my orientation I was told that there was no longer a theatre education program. So I did what any other nervous freshman would do, I cried. I knew that that I wanted to be a teacher so I decided to go to the education advising section. It was perfect because I now have an elementary education major with minors in math, science, and integrated creative arts. The creative art minor was just what I wanted and more! Not only do I get theatre classes, but also dance and art too! I love science and I am glad that that minor was already in place for me, however math has been a struggle for me it has pushed me to become a better teacher through sympathy. I know that my students may struggle like I did, but I have learned so much from my math classes here. I am so glad that things ended up the way they did for me.

I have learned so much during my time here at Western. The classes I have taken were so helpful. Here is a list of classes I ahve completed or in the process of completing.

Right now I am in a 1st/ 2nd grade multiage classroom at Prairieview Elementary in Battle Creek for my ED 371 AND ED 377class. It's funny because I went to Prairieview Elementary in Bartlett, IL. The kids in my class are great. There is such a sense of community there. They are always helping each other out and are so loving. We are currently learning about the sun, moon, and Earth, which is a personal favorite of mine. The students are really getting a hold of the concepts we are going over. I have only been there for a month but I feel like if they were to offer me a job there I would take it in a heartbeat. Its a school with 10 classrooms, so tiny, but so great.
