I am in my third year here at Western Michigan University. I love it! My time at Western has been more than I could have ever wanted in a college experience. I hold two jobs while going to class full time. Both of which are on campus. I work at the Orientation Office where I do a lot of paper work. But don't get me wrong; it is one of the best jobs! I recently stepped down from my position as the Student Coordinator for the Theatre for Community Health program through Sindecuse after two years. Here I utilize my people and theatre skills to its fullest. I was also an Orientation Student Leader in the summer of 2003. I guess you can see from my work alone that I can't hide my Bronco Pride.

A lot of what I do has me working with people. So I have become quite good at reading what people are feeling without them having to tell me. I am a lover, not a fighter. There is this book that I am starting to read called The Five Love Languages, and it has taught me so much about how to love another person or persons and how you best give and receive love. I plan to use this idea in my future classroom,. I have found that it is a great way to improve communication. And in the classroom communication is key!

I have tons of hobbies. I love working with people! I was the Vice President of Campus Activities Board. Through that I was the committee head the Diversity Guidance Committee. We do a lot of celebrating and educating on the topic of diversity. I am now the newly elected President for CAB and we have just won our second consecutive Golden Bronco Award for Student Agency of the Year. I also volunteer of Drive Safe Kalamazoo. This is a great student run program. We volunteer on a Thursday, Friday, or Saturday and work from 10pm to at least 3am. We provide safe rides home to any WMU student. It's so fun! I have also been blessed with the opportunity to be on the 2004 Homecoming Court. Among other things I have just been hired to be an International Student Orientation Leader. I get to work with international students and acclimate them to campus. I was also part of international Programs Council for a while and fell in love with every student I met. I am also the Student Orientation Coordinators for the New Student Orientation Program. Among all of this and much more I was recently awarded the Who's Who Among American Universities & Colleges. If you are a new student to Western, heck even if your not, getting involved is probably one of the best things you can do! Go Broncos! click here to find out how to get involved
